Days 1-3 Travel to Cooperstown, NY. Check in Bay Side Inn on beautiful Otsego Lake for 2 nights.
Day 4 A local guide will tour Cooperstown with us and we will visit the following attractions.National Baseball Hall of
Fame and Museum. Free time to shop and browse in quaint, charming Cooperstown. Exquisite Luncheon Buffet at the
Grand “Otesaga Hotel” on Otsego Lake, Cooperstown. Cooperstown Bat Factory Store – bats for players, coaches, and

Day 5 We depart Cooperstown for Rutland, VT., for 3 nights at the Best Western. We will stop at Blue Mountain Lake,
NY., for a visit to the Adirondack Museum – Self-guided tour of 22 exhibits, outstanding collections, historic buildings in a
very scenic setting in up-state New York. The museum features Adirondack rustic traditions, logging, early transportation,
outdoor recreation, farming, geology, fine arts, boating, and more. Leaving the museum we make our way to Rutland, VT.
Day 6 Visit Marsh – Billings – Rockefeller National Historic Park – Tour the Mansion & Gardens. Learn about this
Vermont vacation home for Lawrence & Mary Rockefeller. Visit the Carriage Barn Visitor’s Center, featuring the exhibit
“Celebrating Stewardship – People taking care of places.” Woodstock – Lunch on own, shop and browse in quaint,
charming village, walk Covered Bridge. Sugarbush farms – visit this off the beaten path family farm and learn how they
make their maple syrup and & cheddar cheese. Sample different grades of syrup and variety of cheeses. Greenbrier Gift
Shop – lovely & unique shopping stop with a seasonal demonstration.
Day 7 Start our day eating and eat all day. “New England Cooks” – Interactive cooking Talk Show, featuring a
Vermont Chef. Enjoy being entertained in the kitchen, cooking tips, and the Tastings! Enjoy an exquisite luncheon at the
famous “Trapp Family Lodge” in Stowe, Vt. There will be a hot and cold buffet & Australian pastries in the main dining
room. Visit the property, Lodge, & Gift shop and learn about the “Sound of Music” family! Green Mountain Coffee – Taste
and learn process of growing & roasting coffee from tree to cup. We will see a lot of beautiful Vermont Countryside today!
Day 8 Leave Rutland, VT and return to the beautiful mountains of New York. Mid-afternoon we’ll take a cruise on at
the Canandaigua Lady. This will be a delightful cruise on Lake Canandaigua showcasing the lake and the fall foliage.
Overnight 2 nights at the Inn On The Lake.
Day 9 We explore today with a local guide and visit: Clifton Springs & Geneva – Guided tour of what was once a “spa”
town that could be making a comeback. Learn about the History, local lore, wealthy neighborhood, and College town of
Geneva. Sonnenberg Gardens & Mansion – guided tour through formal and informal gardens including Italian, Japanese,
Rock, and Old Fashioned Gardens. Special in the Mansion – “White House Gardens Exhibit” from Smithsonian. Lunch on
Own – at Sonnenberg or Wegman’s Good Court, Market, and Deli.Return to the Inn to enjoy some free time to relax, sit by
the lake, swim in the indoor pool, or take a swim in the lake, or just to walk along this lovely lake. “NY Wine & Culinary
Center” – enjoy a Culinary Dinner, with a Glass of regional Wine, & Dessert Demo in state of the art amphitheater, prepared
by one of their chefs. Visit interactive displays of fun-filled facts on wine & food. Watch a video presentation on the rich
agricultural traditions of NY State.

Autumn in the Canadian Maritimes
Nova Scotia - New Brunswick - Prince Edward Island
September 27 - October 12, 2010
Days 1-4 Travel from Arkansas to Portland, Maine. Our route to the Northeast will be through Tennessee,
Virginia, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts and Maine. We will begin to see a lot of color somewhere along
the route.
Day 5 We depart for our 5.5 hour sail on the CAT ferry from Portland, Maine to Yarmouth, Nova Scotia
this morning. Upon arrival in Yarmouth we meet our tour director and begin to tour the Evangeline Trail.
We will visit the site dedicated to the expulsion of the Acadians - Grand Pre National Historic Site. This
event inspired Longfellow to pen the romantic epic, “Evangeline,” which occurred here in 1755. In
Annapolis Valley, we’ll enjoy a Welcome Dinner hosted by our tour director. We will continue on to Halifax,
Nova Scotia, where we will spend the next two nights.
Day 6 Breakfast this morning will be at Peggy’s Cove overlooking the crashing surf and the lighthouse
perched on top of wave washed rocks. We will have time to explore this working fishing village and
browse through the craft and gift stores before returning to Halifax where we will be immersed in the
history and culture of this beautiful city. Visit the Halifax Citadel National Historic Site, the Halifax Public
Gardens and the Titanic Graves Site. Then enjoy time at leisure for relaxing or exploring on your own.
Day 7 We travel past Truro to Stellarton to visit the Museum of Industry. There is something for
everyone in these interactive “hands on” museum. Then, Continue on to the “Scotland of North America”-
Cape Breton. We then travel the Ceilidh Trail along the west and north shore of the Island to the Acadian
community of Cheticamp. We will spend two nights here. This evening, enjoy Acadian food and
entertainment.
Day 8 Discover first hand why Conde Nast Magazine readers rated Cape Breton one of the top ten
most beautiful islands in the world! We trave the 186-mile coastline which makes up the famous Cabot
Trail as it winds its way through Cape Breton Highlands National Park. As we learn about the history of
this beautiful island, be sure to have your camera ready for the spectacular photo stops. Fun and a picnic
lunch will be enjoyed while we are in the park. In Baddeck, we visit the Bell Museum, dedicated to the life
works of the genius Alexander Graham Bell, the village’s most famous summer resident.
Day 9 We will travel back to mainland Nova Scotia and take a 75 minute ferry to Prince Edward Island
today and continue to Charlottetown for a two night stay. Upon arrival in Charlottetown, enjoy some free
time to explore before a fun and educational cooking demonstration and dinner at the Culinary Institute of
Canada.
Day 10 This morning enjoy an optional historic walking tour of Charlottetown before departing for
Cavendish, PE. At the Prince Edward Island National Park see the beautiful red sandstone cliffs, fine
white sand beaches and dunes, and lush green fields. Also visit Green Gables, famous around the world
as the inspiration for the setting in Lucy Maud Montgomery’s classic tale of fiction, Anne of Green Gables.
Before returning to our hotel, we will enjoy a traditional Lobster Dinner (meat alternative available).
Day 11 We depart Prince Edward Island this morning for New Brunswick via the Confederation Bridge.
We will travel along the shores of the Bay of Fundy, site of the world’s highest tides and stop for a visit at
Hopewell Rocks where fantastic rock forms have been carved by the action of the Fundy tides. We then
drive through Fundy National Park before arriving in Saint John, the Loyalist City. A farewell dinner tonight
will end our adventure.
Day 12 We begin our journey home and watch for the miracles that have happened in one weeks time.
Days 13-16 As we travel a different route home we marvel at the beautiful foliage and how much it
changes in such a short time.

October 25 – November 2, 2010
Day 1 Travel to Grand Rivers, KY. We’ll have a delicious dinner at Patti’s 1880’s Settlement.
Day 2 Our travels take us all the way across the state of Kentucky before arriving in Huntington, West
Virginia for a 2 night stay.
Day 3 Today we explore the city of Huntington. We’ll see unique handmade glassware at Blenko Glass
Company. Experience life as it was in an Appalachian pioneer community at the Heritage Farm Museum
and Village. A visit to the Museum of Radio and Technology will remind us to earlier years with their
collections. Huntington is also home to Marshall University. We visit some points of interest at their
beautiful campus.
Day 4 Our travels today take us to Beckley, West Virginia with a stop in the capital city of Charleston. We’ll
visit the West Virginia Cultural Center which will afford visitors a step-by-step walk through West Virginia’s
rich history. A tour of the State Capital building will also be included. We’ll overnight in Beckley for 2 nights.
Day 5 In Beckley today we will visit the Beckley Exhibition Coal Mine. There you will experience the life of a
coal miner as we ride the remodeled coal car through 1500 feet of underground passages. Veteran
miners guide us through the coal mining process and tell us about the great heritage of mining in West
Virginia. We’ll also make a stop at Tamarack. It features more than 1200 artists and businesses from
around West Virginia highlighting handcrafts, artwork, food products, clothing, and souvenir items from all
55 counties. Then we’re headed to White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia for a 2 night stay at the legendary
Greenbrier Resort.
Day 6 For more than two centuries, guests-generals and presidents, commoners and kings have visited
the beautiful Greenbrier Resort. Today you’ll have time to rest, explore the grounds, visit the spa, take in a
round of golf, or tour the Underground Bunker. The Bunker was built secretly for Congress during the Cold
War era.
Day 7 Today we’ll make our way to Asheville, North Carolina for our overnight.
Day 8 Our travels will take us to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. The views from atop these
mountains are breathtaking. Our lunch stop will be at Applewood’s Restaurant in Pigeon Forge,
Tennessee. We will overnight in Lebanon, TN.
Day 9 Travel home.

Sights and Sounds of Christmas in Omaha, Nebraska
November 29 – December 4, 2010
Day 1 Travel to Overland Park, KS
Day 2 Travel to Omaha. Our first stop in Omaha takes us to the Holiday Poinsettia Show at Lauritzen
Bontanical Gardens. View over 7000 beautiful poinsettias in a breathtaking display. Then it’s on the Union
Station for a Holiday miniatures display which features over 100 custom made pieces. Do you have a
sweet tooth? Our next stop is the 1950’s Hollywood Candy Shop where we will have a candy making
demonstration as well as some tasting! We’ll check into our hotel for a three night stay. Tonight we’ll
experience Christmas in Greece at St. John’s Greek Orthodox Church. We’ll learn about Greek holiday
customs and traditions and enjoy a delicious dinner.
Day 3 We’ll begin our day with a historical driving tour of Omaha. Then it’s on to the General Crook
House for a step back in time to the late 19th century for a glimpse of a Victorian Christmas. Lunch today
will be at the Renaissance Mansion. A holiday buffet will be presented at this beautiful home. After lunch
we’ll be treated to a 1927 Kimball Theatre Pipe Organ Performance. This is an amazing experience!! We’ll
tour the rooms containing the pipes and inner workings of the organ and then settle back for a concert
and a Christmas Sing-A-Long. To end our busy day, we’ll enjoy a Christmas in Germany celebration.
There will be singing, dancing, and food from the German American Society.
Day 4 Our morning begins with a seasonal and holiday tea tasting presentation. Then it’s on to Boys
Town to see an Irish Christmas at the Father Flanagan House. We’ll have a luncheon Christmas concert
at the Joslyn Art Museum. Choirs and music groups from the area perform in the beautiful glass atrium.
Our next stop is the St. Cecilia Cathedral. We’ll learn about the 50 year process of building this massive
structure with its two twin Spanish bell towers. After resting at the hotel and dinner, tonight’s
entertainment will be a performance of “The Christmas Carol” by the Omaha Community Playhouse.
Day 5 We’ll have great memories of our time in Omaha we travel to Kansas City. This afternoon we
will spend time exploring Kansas City and its Christmas traditions. After dinner tonight, we’ll take a
Christmas Lights driving tour. Overnight in Kansas City area.
Day 6 Travel home.

Mountain View Christmas
December 3-5, 2010
Day 1 Today we drive to Heber Springs for lunch at the Red Apple Inn on Eden Isle. After lunch we stop at
“Aromatique” for some Christmas shopping. (They have a Sale Room.) Then we’re off to Mountain View for a fun time in
the mountains. Tonight we’ll be entertained by some of the musicians from the area. We overnight for two nights at the
Ozark Folk Center Lodge.
Day 2 Saturday Morning – We go to the square where there will be a lot of “pickin” going on unless the weather is too
cold. After lunch we’re going to Blanchard Springs Caverns for Caroling in the Caverns. First of all, even if you don’t like
caves, you can ride the elevator down in the caverns and walk a short distance to the bleacher seats for the caroling. You
will then have a choice of doing the tour of the caverns and the concert or just hearing the concert. I’m not a huge fan of
caves, but I did the cavern tour in October and it was fabulous! The tour is even handicap accessible now, but back to the
caroling. One visitor’s comment, “I was underground but never felt closer to Heaven.” It will be an awesome experience.
Tonight, we‘ll attend one of the shows in Mountain View.
Day 3 Since this is Sunday, we will stop for a church service on our way home.

Day 2 We begin our day with amazing harmonies of the Twelve Irish Tenors. This afternoon we’ll enjoy the fabulous
fun of 50’s at the Hop. After dinner we’ll experience the amazing production of “The Miracle of Christmas” at the Sight and
Sound Theater.
Day 3 This morning we will travel home with a stop at Roberson’s Fruit Stand.

Day 1 Travel to Natchez, Mississippi. After we arrive in the afternoon and have a short rest, it’s on to Lansdowne for dinner and a tour. Lansdowne was built in 1853 in the Greek Revival style of architecture. Day 2 We’ll meet our guide who will lead us through several of the beautiful antebellum homes in Natchez. We’ll tour Auburn, Rosalie, Stanton Hall, and Longwood. A classic carriage ride will take us to the Towers. This fabulous home has thousands of pieces of costume jewelry adorning every table and mantel plus dozens of trees. Tonight after dinner at Magnolia Hall, we’ll enjoy a production of A Natchez Christmas Carol. Day 3 Travel home
